Founded in 2004 as an exhibition website called LagunaART.com, representing over 200 national and international artists, 4 years later in 2008 the gallery created an iPhone APP with all of the Laguna Beach galleries, festivals, and artists rotated through the app. The APP is still at the top of the App Store for Laguna Beach art and is downloaded a half million times annually around the world. In 2018 LagunaART•com opened its first physical brick and mortar location and contemporary art gallery with 20 artist studios adjoined, next door to the Laguna Art Museum on Gallery Row, and across from Urth Caffe and Las Brisas Restaurants. With prime window display facing Pacific Coast Hwy and the Ocean with 3-5 million visitors annually passing by.

The Dana Point Fine Arts Association began as the Niguel Art Association, which had its roots in a group formed by six area artists in 1968. These local artists were interested in offering South County residents greater exposure to the fine arts, and to create a venue promoting the many talented artists within the community. In May, 1989, the Niguel Art Association became an official non-profit 501(3)(c) corporation.
